Computer Strategies releases Unanet version 2.4.8
Computer Strategies, Inc. announces the release of Unanet version 2.4.8 for integrated time, expense and project tracking over the Web! Unanet components include: UnaTime for recording and approving time to projects, Una$ense for collecting and approving expenses, and UnaPulse for tracking projects in real time. The new 2.4.8 release offers a generic data export facility, Year 2000 Certification, and certification on new Internet platform components. The generic data export facility enables an organization to easily implement and change the data extraction and export specifications without an experienced programmer. This means Unanet can be implemented with your existing accounting, invoicing, payroll and other applications to immediately realize the bottom line results achieved through improving employee work. When a decision is made to upgrade to a new application, the interface change effort is simple and easy.
Unanet was designed and built with Year 2000 in mind. However, every product needs to be thoroughly tested to ensure it really is Year 2000 certified. As a result of our testing, and ultimate certification, we had no Y2K problems but made minor changes for clarification.
Coded in server-side Java components to the vendor-independent standards, Unanet executes in many technology environments. To ensure error-free execution, we test Unanet with specific Internet components. Recently, Unanet has been certified on the BEA WebLogic Application Server, the I-Net JDBC-ODBC driver and the Java Web Server. The BEA WebLogic Application Server provides for more concurrent users. Both the Java Web Server and the WebLogic Application Server are easier to setup as they handle both functions of html web server and server-side Java engine (virtual machine). The I-Net JDBC-ODBC driver is an excellent, and inexpensive, Type-4 driver and one of the few that works with MS SQL Server 7.0.
Other enhancements in Unanet 2.4.8 include improved reporting capabilities, improved expense reporting, and features to streamline the use of the products.
