Privilege Needed: Administrator
The Organization Code serves the function of identifying your own organization as well as other organizations you may charge time or expenses against. Unanet can track labor hours by project/task for any combination of Organizations.
When entering a new Organization, you press Add under the Administrator / Organization Menu. Enter the information about an Organization and press Save. The Organization Code is the abbreviation for the company, agency, department, or division. The Parent Organization is used if you wish to enter your organizations in a hierarchical tree. If so, you can view that tree by pressing the View Tree option un the Administrator / Organization Menu. See example below of the tree structure.
The Organization Page comes with an option for you to add up to 10 user defined fields. You can also change any label on this page that is shown above. To do so, you will have to edit your text.properties file. Click here to go to text.properties file. If this file does not exist in your properties directory on the web server, then create it. The only requirement is that the file must start with 1 blank line and the parameters below start on line 2. Add or edit the following lines to this file that you want to override. Remember, any changes to this file, require that you stop and restart your servlet engine before they take effect.
NOTE: If the customer.user01 to customer.user10 fields are left blank (as they are now), then they do not show up on the data entry screens. This logic does not follow for the other fields. The user defined fields are all strings, limited to 128 characters in length.

To enter Address, Phone, and E-mail information, press the respective button from the bottom of the edit page. If you are entering a new organization, you will see these buttons after you press the Save button.
Once you have entered an organization that has any one of the following entered
(Address, Phone, or E-mail), then your Edit Organization Screen layout
should look similar to the following: Press the 
icon to edit an existing Address, Phone, or E-mail record, or
press the 
icon to delete
it. To add a new Address, Phone, or E-mail, press the respective button across the
bottom of the page.

current data on the form.
- Resets the
value to it's default view.

current user access to add new phone number. Click
here to view the Phone Screen.
- Gives the
current user access to add new E-mail address. Click here to view the E-mail
Screen.

Below is an example of the Search Screen for searching organizations. To search for organizations, select Search from under the Administrator / Organizations Menu. Only Administrators have access to this menu item. The data entry fields that can be searched on, search by whatever starts with what you type in. They are not case sensative.
Below is an example of listing organizations, either from pressing List under the Administrator / Organizations Menu or by entering a specific Search Criteria.
The Organization can be entered using a hierarchical tree structure if you want to enter an organization in departments. If you use the hierarchical format, you can see the organization structure by pressing on the View Tree option under the Administrator / Organizations Menu. Specifically, see below the CSI Organization Code for how the tree structure can be displayed. In the definition of Organization Code 0002, its parent organization would be CSI. CSI's parent would be empty. See Edit Organization for where this information is setup.
